Ghost Bust Setup Instructions
It's a good idea to get acquainted with your new projector before mounting it to the ceiling. When it's high above your head, it's more challenging to find your way around the projector settings, so let's check it out while you can still access it easily.
Unpack the projector and connect the cable to the back of it. You'll see that the one connection connects the power as well as the video input. You have your choice of RCA (standard for most DVD players, recommended) and VGA, which you would only use if you were hooking a computer up to it.
You'll notice that there aren't any physical buttons on the projector. They're touch sensitive buttons, which are slick and high-tech and all, but they make it hard to navigate when you're reaching above your head feeling around by braile. All the more reason to get to know the projector before mounting.
VERY IMPORTANT: Recent changes in the projector's factory default settings now make it necessary to turn the "Auto Keystone" feature OFF.
If Auto Keystone is left on, the image may become distorted, making proper alignment difficult or impossible to obtain. Here's how to turn it off:
Power up the projector by pressing the Power button (bottom left corner of the projector top) for four seconds. Next, press the Menu button, which is the icon that looks like a menu (lower right). You should see a list of menu options lined up at the bottom of the projected screen. Use the Right/Left Arrow buttons to scroll over to the SETUP option, and press the center checkmark button to select it.
The third option down is "Auto Keystone". Check to see that it's OFF, (the word "Off" should be highlighted in yellow). If it's ON, use the Right Arrow key to select OFF.
Next, scroll down to the next option on the list, "Keystone" and set that to "0". Your image will now stay proportioned correctly.
Lastly, scroll down four more items to "Menu Lock" and turn it ON. This is a great feature that will prevent you from unwittingly changing the Keystone feature and distorting the image. If you ever need to access the menu again, just hold the Menu button down for fifteen long seconds and the menu will become unlocked again. (Make sure to turn it back on later).
